Sisters! I loved every minute photographing this family in the yard of their home. It was pure joy capturing all the sweet moments (some posed, some not-so-much!) between these bright and beautiful young ladies, their dog, Lily, and their newest four-legged addition, Rosie.

Having a birder in the family means a lot of time spent bird watching. It also means I have the good fortune to photograph these beautiful creatures everywhere we visit. Here's a handful of favorites from some recent trips — including a weekend at Hawk Mountain Sanctuary in PA — and one from my own backyard just this week.

A family that exercises together, stays together. I had so much fun photographing this personal trainer and her whole family. We spent some time in her gym, then headed to a local park for some outdoor shots. I especially loved capturing each of the children’s very different (but equally endearing) personalities. 

For me, summer is all about jumping off the hamster-wheel-of-life for a bit to travel and appreciate time with our family. This August we set out on one of our most memorable family trips of all time — a week at Tumbling River Ranch in Grant, Colorado. Here are a few favorites from the week.

It’s not often — or ever — I get to spend a few days in New York City alone, with just my camera. But I had the opportunity to do just that last week, during the incomparable Roberto Valenzuela’s Picture Perfect Posing Workshop. It was masterful. He breaks down the science behind the subtleties of a beautiful portrait like no one else, and makes it fun!
